Their vocal work is deeply rooted in Corsican musical heritage, from which the group draws its creativity. Tradition is the raw material that inspires their compositions. Far from confining themselves to a "vocal museum", their musical and cultural influences feed their creative output.
Tenor Benoît Rusterucci (songwriter) and cellist and singer Jean-Louis Blaineau (composer and arranger) created Passione. In the studio and then on stage, Benoît Rusterucci showed the full extent of his natural vocal qualities. This tenor, passionate about singing, with his generosity and thirst for knowledge of other musical worlds, was bound to succumb to the charms of "bel canto". He writes most of the lyrics, finding inspiration in everyday life, history, love and friendship, in his infinite imagination...
Jean-Louis Blaineau was 5 years old when he began playing the cello and singing at the Geneva Conservatoire. He continued his musical studies at the Henri Tomasi Conservatoire in Ajaccio. He began his musical career at the age of 14, accompanying and singing with some of the greatest Corsican singers and groups.
He composed for some of them and for other artists and choirs outside the island.
It was a natural step for him to team up with his childhood friend Benoît to create Passione. Friends from their village of Appietu or from the canton join them to take part in this musical adventure.
Price: €20 (free for children under 18).
