Suarina is a musical group founded on a friendship between young women with a passion for music and singing. As cultural activists, they defend their language and culture. Former students at the University of Corsica, they met during musical exchanges at the University Cultural Centre.
The musical universe born of this feminine encounter is an invitation to an inner journey, both individual and collective, where the key word is "harmony"... It questions the notion of balance, of the self, of the other and therefore of the whole. It is thanks to the balance of each element that the structure is solid.
Harmony is the name of the game here, and it is harmony that governs the balance between space and time, nature and the animal, the collective and the individual, the body and the mind... Suarina proposes a quest for individual and collective harmony, at every level: musical, human, societal, utopian... Starting with an attempt to bring voices and instruments into harmony, inspired
inspired by the traditional technique of Corsican polyphonic singing, the journey continues with the interweaving of diverse horizons and influences, illustrating an unwavering friendship and sorority.
friendship and sisterhood.
The result is a complementary, resolutely modern sound.
After an initial period of covers and adaptations of traditional songs, the Suarina group is now working on new creations. Renowned songwriters such as Alain Di Meglio, Patrizia Gattaceca, Ceccè Lanfranchi, Ghjuvan Federiccu Terrazzoni and Nicolas Sorba have entrusted the group with several texts.
Suarina also had the pleasure of taking part in the Corsu Mezu Mezu adventure, a project initiated by Patrick Fiori, performing Corsica Meia as a duet with Nolwenn Leroy on the re-release of the second album.
Tickets cost €15 (free for children under 12).
