From 1 to 15 July, every day from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm, painter Yann ARGENTIN will be exhibiting his paintings at the Espace Saint-Jacques.
For several years, Yann ARGENTIN painted landscapes, before deciding, in a desire to "let go", to hang his canvases directly on the wall. Spontaneity became his watchword. In addition to traditional brushes, he uses a variety of tools: rollers, spatulas and large knives. He abandoned small paintings for larger formats. The treatment of light, of which he had a certain sensitivity, became his main objective, in order to retranscribe his emotions with authenticity, without pretence. He opts for urban landscapes and intimate scenes of life. These subjects offer a limitless playground for showcasing variations in natural or artificial light. His work, influenced by film photography and artists such as the American painter Hopper, immerses us in a materialistic, modern space where the atmospheres lead to mute dreams and urban poetry.
Admission free.
