This year's festival pays tribute to René Char (1907-1988), a major poet of the 20th century and a member of the Resistance. A cultural event that celebrates artistic creation and memory, through the lens of short film and poetry.
A poet in the Resistance, not in the shadow of a newspaper for which he allegedly wrote clandestine texts castigating the Nazi occupiers, but a Resistance fighter in the field, commanding a Provençal network under the name of Captain Alexandre, an experience that was to inspire him to write Les Feuillets d'Hypnos, a kind of poetic war diary of unsurpassable power.
But, in retrospect, René Char's entire life was one of resistance: resistance to fashions, to political and poetic trends, resistance to false values, a resistance in the form of a flash of lightning, an allegory of an attitude to life that he expressed in poetry in a magnificent aphoristic language.
Evening programme:
- 7pm: contemporary poetry talk with Anne Malaprade and François Heusbourg, hosted by Jean-Louis Giovannoni
- 8pm: buffet
- 9pm: 2nd evening of short films
We will also have the pleasure of welcoming Louise Chevillotte, actress in the film La condition.
Practical information:
