The beginning of a film
worthy of a medieval seriesFrom the very first seconds, the film about the Torrione, a medieval fortication at the heart of the Mediterranean wars, takes us on a cartography reminiscent of the opening credits of Game of Thrones. We know it’s going to be about power struggles and fierce fighting. And so it is: Bonifacio was the object of much covetousness for its ideal maritime passage between Spain and Italy and between Italy and Africa. From the 12th century onwards, Pisa, Genoa and the Crown of Aragon battled it out for commercial hegemony in the heart of the Bouches de Bonifacio. The stage is set. We want to know who’s going to win.
