BIENNALE INTERNATIONALE DE BONIFACIO DES ARTS DU FEU

Following France in 2014, Italy in 2016, Japan in 2019, Malta in 2022 and Serbia in 2024, the 2026 Bonifacio International Biennale of Fire Arts is this year honouring Greece with the exhibition ‘Kallisté: Corso Greek’, dedicated to contemporary Greek ceramics and glass. Building on a tradition of craftsmanship stretching back millennia, Greek ceramics occupy a major place in the country’s artistic and cultural history. Since ancient times, artisans have transformed clay into pieces that are at once functional, decorative and narrative, bearing witness to beliefs, myths and everyday life. In recent years, contemporary artistic ceramics have enjoyed a resurgence in Greece. This thriving scene is characterised by several major movements, blending respect for cultural heritage with great creative freedom. Through this exhibition, discover the world and work of five guest Greek ceramic artists: Chrysanthe Libereou, Kyriaki Moustaki, Liana Papalexis, Georges Pontikis and Nikos Sklavenitis. The exhibition can be viewed at the Espace Saint-Jacques, in the Upper Town, from 1 to 31 August, daily from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 19.00.
