Description
See the programme for the evening below:
• First part: pupils from the A Casa di a Müsica Bunifazzina Music School
Pupils from Jean-Paul Bonnevalle’s singing class will perform several arias from the Italian Baroque opera repertoire, accompanied by the musicians of the A Me Anima ensemble.
• Second part: pupils from the Association Fretu Musicale and the A Me Anima ensemble
Under the direction of Philippe Spinosi, the A Me Anima ensemble, accompanied by countertenor Jean-Paul Bonnevalle, will take the audience on a musical journey to the heart of 17th- and 18th-century Italy through works by Vivaldi, Albinoni, Landi, Handel and other great composers of the Baroque repertoire. This ensemble brings together voices, violins, cello, viola da gamba, positive organ, harpsichord, Baroque guitar and percussion.
• Part Three: traditional Corsican songs
The concert will conclude with a tribute to the island’s musical heritage, featuring performances of traditional Corsican songs by Jean-François Puddori and Chiara Puddori, accompanied by the ensemble’s musicians.
Organised by the Association Fretu Musicale, based in Pianottoli-Caldarello, the A Me Anima ensemble brings together musicians who are mainly based in Southern Corsica or originally from the island. It develops projects promoting access to classical, baroque and traditional music, as well as to theatre, in the far south of Corsica.
Led by Philippe Spinosi, who also plays the baroque guitar, the ensemble’s musicians are Ludovic Dupré, Richard Jehl and Elena Moncho Danelian on violins, Anne-Garance Fabre (known as Garrus-Spinosi) on cello and viola da gamba, Isabelle Chevalier on the positive organ, François Colin on the harpsichord, Jean-Pierre Braccini on guitar and Tony Braccini on percussion.
The event is supported by the town of Bonifacio, as well as the commitment of Laurence Angeli, president of the Bonifacio School of Music, whose involvement has helped to facilitate this wonderful artistic collaboration.
