For your information, and to make you more sociable, the “traditional” Yule log was originally made from a tree, preferably a fruit tree (plum, cherry or olive), which was burnt very slowly in the hearth, ideally for the twelve days of the cycle (until the New Year), to guarantee a good harvest the following year.
