Description

A unique opportunity to see, touch, hear, smell and even taste nature in all its forms! To bring the exhibition to life, a varied programme of events will be on offer throughout May, accessible to all: creative workshops, guided walks, meetings with experts, and many other activities designed to amaze everyone. A total immersion in Bonifacio's natural heritage, where every sense becomes a gateway to discovery. This event is run in partnership with the Office de l'Environnement de la Corse, the Conservatoire de Botanique de Corse and the Vénérable Confrérie Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. The preview will take place on Thursday 7 May at 6pm in the Espace Saint-Jacques. Composition of the exhibition - Espace Saint-Jacques : - Un ti scurdà di a filetta How did the links between man and plants develop in a Corsican society that was predominantly agro-pastoral until the second half of the twentieth century? In what way are we heirs to this heritage? The exhibition Ùn ti scurdà di a filetta! Plants and their traditional uses in Corsica, invites us to explore the relationship between Corsica's wild plants and the men and women who live here. It has chosen to bring together the know-how and practices of the locals for their heritage value and for what they express about their relationship with the world. Aimed at teenagers and secondary school students, as well as the general public, this exhibition explores and questions man's traditional relationship with plants in Corsica, from the perspective of ethnobotany and ethnolinguistics. - How do we see the world? This photographic exhibition is aimed particularly at young people, and has a number of different objectives: - To present, through 13 photos, the diversity of the research carried out by the Environmental Sciences Laboratory of the University of Corsica and the CNRS (UMR 6134 SPE). - To look at our environment on a scale other than that accessible to our senses, with an exploration of the infinitely small, and to be able to appreciate the diversity of nature that we too often think is organised on our scale. So, beyond the feelings of curiosity and wonder generated by observing a leaf or an insect through an electron microscope, this exhibition leads us to ask ourselves the most humble and simple question possible: How do we see the world? - Trè Padule sound recordings The Office de l'Environnement de la Corse invites you to listen to the soundscapes of the Tre Padule Nature Reserve in Suartone. Through the compositions of Marc Namblard, winner of the 2026 César award for best sound, come and put your ear to the ground and discover the daytime and night-time soundscapes of this unique protected natural area, listed as a wetland of international importance. - Loan and exhibition of the Ghjisè di l'Erba Fund Joseph Stefani, known as Ghjasè di l'Arba (1855-1949), a native of Bonifacia from Serra-di-Scopamena, became famous for his many journeys around the Mediterranean basin in search of rare plants. A pupil of and assistant to Professor Elysée Reverchon, one of the greatest botanists of his time, he left his heirs an impressive collection that retraces his life through letters and documents tracing his professional activities and his reference works, including Herbari Blackwell (Elizabeth Blackwell), Le Botaniste Cultivateur (Dumont de Courset, Georges Louis Marie) and Démonstrations élémentaires de botanique (Claret de La Tourrette, Marc-Antoine-Louis). - Fishing nets by Frédéric Sitzia - Fisherman's tools and objects - Disimone family - Shepherd's tools and objects - Roghi family Programme of events - in Bonifacio : FRIDAY 8 MAY - 2.30pm: the art of weaving: Vitalba and daisies intertwine during Sant'Isidoru!
