Description
On the corner of rue Saint-Nicolas, the Orée du Maquis shop is intriguing. Two small open doors catch the eye of passers-by and invite them to descend into this very special cellar.
On the left are the stills and strange machines used to make the drinks on display on the right. Liqueurs, aperitif wines and creams are lined up here like magicians' potions. Shades of amber, copper, light or dark, all colours are used to awaken the imagination. But in the end, it's the taste buds that are awakened when Jean-Jacques and Stéphanie Lovichi offer visitors a tasting session. The multitude of bottles, shapes and smells, the wooden shelves and the friendly welcome from the owners encourage you to try everything: chestnut or melon cream, hazelnut liqueur from Cervione or, more traditionally, Myrtle wine or lemon liqueur, the local flavours are carefully crafted to offer quality local products.
An atypical address full of original recipes. Not to be missed.
