The Tour de Corse à la Voile is a regatta based in Bonifacio, organised by the Bonifacio Yacht Club under the auspices of the French Sailing Federation and the Corsican Sailing League. Remaining true to its iconic 250 nautical mile non-stop route around the ‘Isle of Beauty’, this regatta retains its sporting spirit and the legendary camaraderie characteristic of passionate sailors. Every year, crews from all over Europe take up this unique challenge. Alongside a majority of French-flagged boats, crews from Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and even Luxembourg bear witness to the event’s European appeal. It attracts both amateur sailors and the big names in sailing who have left their mark on its history: Florence Arthaud, Franck Cammas, Catherine Chabaud, Kito de Pavant, Sébastien Josse, Lionel Péan (current record holder, with a time of 25 hours, 57 minutes and 5 seconds)… An impressive roll of honour for a race that is closer to an offshore adventure than a simple inshore regatta.
