Why this trip?
An internationally renowned sporting event
This 13 km race, with a 510 m elevation gain, takes place between the port, the fortified town, the scrubland and the limestone cliffs. It offers a unique view of the Mediterranean and its shades of blue, as well as a demanding course.
Heritage
With the Ville d’Art et d’Histoire label since 2019, Bonifacio, a sentinel on the Mediterranean, brings its heritage to life. Thanks to the preservation and enhancement of its historic monuments and medieval citadel, Bonifacio’s residents and visitors alike will be able to tell their own stories in a variety of complementary ways. This holiday is an opportunity to visit unique sites at the best times of the day.
Relaxation
A holiday where the aim is also to take care of yourself by meeting Bonifacians at a wine tasting, but also by relaxing your body in an atypical wellness center.

Balade Citadelle 2
Bonifacio, famous for its citadel, cliffs and breathtaking seascape, awaits you for an atypical discovery. You arrive at Figari airport and rent a car to take you to your hotel. Or, if you’re arriving by sea, you’ll probably have taken your vehicle with you. You’re arriving from Ajaccio, Propriano or Porto-Vecchio. Depending on your time of arrival, you can already discover Bonifacio’s Marine and its extraordinary goulet. Or simply dine on the harbor for a typical light meal or a continental meal suited to the physical exertions ahead.
In the morning, take a guided tour of the medieval Upper Town. Pierre will tell you all about the town’s history and anecdotes. He’ll take you on a tour of the Escalier du Roy d’Aragon and its 189 steps, the Bastion de l’Etendard and its majestic viewpoints.
In the afternoon, relax and enjoy a spa break at Hotel Genovese. A unique venue housed in an old Genovese cistern. Massage, treatments, swimming pool and sauna are all on the agenda.
Once you’ve fully relaxed, meet Bonifacio’s winegrowers for a tasting session at Domaine Buzzo, one of only three estates to exploit Bonifacio’s limestone soils. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

It’s impossible to think of anything else to do on this day other than cheer on the racers as they set off from the Marine before climbing up to the cliffs for a succession of sporting challenges in an idyllic setting. Perhaps you or someone in your family will be lucky enough to be on the podium. Once the prizes have been awarded over a buffet dinner, you’ll leave delighted with these three days of Bonifacian interlude. The risk? The slight frustration of a taste of unfinished business… I promise, you’ll be back.
