Description
Located about ten kilometres from the port of Bonifacio, the large beach at Balistra offers plenty of space and tranquillity for the whole family.
Leaving the centre of Bonifacio, head towards Porto-Vecchio, then turn off the main road onto a dirt track on the right, heading towards the sea. Allow about twenty minutes in total. Please note that the dirt track is quite long and has a fair number of potholes and bumps. At the end of the track, you’ll find free parking right next to the beach.
With fine sand, turquoise water, a beach hut and a water sports centre (offering equipment hire), the long Balistra beach is sure to delight you. Better still: it is supervised by professional lifeguards during the season (roughly from 1 July to 15 September, from late morning until late afternoon – dates and times are set by local by-law each year).
Visitors with reduced mobility can make use of the access ramp, which makes it easier to get into the water.
From mid-June to the end of September, the municipality of Bonifacio also sets up a beach volleyball net.
Behind the beach lies a large pond.
Non-smoking beach.
Please remember that you are in a nature reserve, the Bouches de Bonifacio. Please observe the rules displayed on the signs and take all your rubbish with you.
