Description

The group A Vadina, based in the far south of Corsica, is made up of four singers and musicians, united by a shared passion for polyphony. Heirs to an ancestral tradition, they grew up to the sound of songs passed down from generation to generation, steeped from childhood in these deep and unique harmonies that resonate across the whole island. Inspired by this musical and cultural heritage, they have made polyphony much more than a mere means of expression: it lies at the heart of their artistic approach and their identity. Every note they sing is a tribute to those voices of yesteryear that told the story of a people – their joys, their sorrows and their hopes. Through their concerts in churches, they offer a timeless experience, where the power and emotion of the voices blend with the harmony of a guitar and a piano. Their repertoire, enhanced by the exceptional acoustics of the venues they perform in, is a true musical journey, spanning both sacred and secular songs. True to their mission of passing on and preserving cultural heritage, the singers of A Vadina are committed to keeping this priceless musical treasure alive, sharing it with fervour and perpetuating a tradition that remains more vibrant and relevant than ever.
