Born in Bastia in 1961 and raised between Morocco and Corsica, he grew up in an environment deeply influenced by music and Mediterranean cultures. He began his career with the group I Surghjenti before forging his own path as a songwriter, composer and performer. Over the years, Jean-Pierre Marcellesi has established himself as one of the most recognisable voices on the island’s music scene. His repertoire blends poetry, memory, Corsican identity and Mediterranean influences, expressed through sensitive and deeply human songwriting.
