CONCERT POLYPHONIQUE PASSIONE

A vocal project deeply rooted in Corsican musical heritage, from which the group draws its creativity. Tradition is the raw material and source of inspiration for their compositions. Far from confining themselves to a ‘vocal museum’, their musical and cultural influences nourish their creative work. Passione was founded by the tenor Benoît Rusterucci (songwriter) and the cellist and singer Jean-Louis Blaineau (composer, arranger). Both in the studio and on stage, Benoît Rusterucci fully realises the extent of his natural vocal talents. This tenor, passionate about singing, with his generosity and his thirst to explore other musical worlds, was bound to succumb to the charms of ‘bel canto’. He writes most of the lyrics, drawing inspiration from everyday life, history, love and friendship, and from his boundless imagination… Jean-Louis Blaineau was five years old when he began learning the cello and singing at the Geneva Conservatoire. He went on to pursue his musical studies at the Henri Tomasi Conservatoire in Ajaccio. At the age of 14, he began his career as a musician, accompanying or singing with some of Corsica’s greatest singers and bands. He composed for some of them, as well as for other artists and choirs outside the island. It was only natural that he should team up with his childhood friend Benoît to form Passione. Friends from their village of Appietu and the wider region have joined them to be part of this musical adventure. Full price: €20 (free for under-18s).
