Free admission on Saturday 19 September, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm, to mark the 43rd European Heritage Days. What if a festival were not an escape, but rather a moment of intense and cathartic awareness, creating situations of engagement that reclaim the present, the right to the city and the right to speak out? More than a ‘means of revolution’, it is a catalyst and a laboratory for social change. Through the coming together of these exhilarated minds and this stolen moment on the popular stage, the festival defies authority and creates openings where transgression, hope, love and connection are forged. Nimu Dormi explores these forms of occupation that arise from the actions of a vigilant people. Unfolding freely in the manner of an opera — Overture, Prelude, Acts and Triumph — Nimu Dormi orchestrates a progression in which images, gestures and sounds compose a score. The event unfolds across five heritage sites at the heart of the historic heritage of this thousand-year-old city: • The Agora • The Cisterna • The Palazzu • The Impluvium • The French Barracks It brings together 14 international artists and 6 local artists and collectives. Among them: Adel Abdessemed, Vanessa Beecroft, Philippe Caamano, Puma Camillê, Niki Danai Chania, Alex Foxton, Ghjuvan Petrugraziani, Rinatu Coti, Mark Leckey, Mode 2, David Noonan, Nkisi, Tony Regazzoni, Anrisala, as well as Nadya Tolokonnikova and the Pussy Riot collective. The Salle Capsule: dedicated to emerging Corsican artists, it hosts three works, selected following a call for proposals, which will be exhibited in succession over a period of eight weeks. Daily guided tours, at no extra cost, are available during opening hours, starting from the French Barracks: • June, September, October and November: Tuesday to Saturday, at 4 pm • July and August: Tuesday to Saturday, at 6 pm Booking is recommended on 07 64 83 73 93 or by email at team@derenava-art.com.
