Description
For its 27th edition, the Rencontres Musicales de Méditerranée is putting Spain in the spotlight, with the participation of the Trio Tarsis Flamenco Ensemble, this year’s guest of honour.
Every year in November, this unmissable event brings together more than 200 artists, musicians and leading figures from the Mediterranean music scene in Corsica.
Artists from the island rub shoulders with musicians from numerous countries, including Algeria, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Monaco, Portugal and Tunisia.
Centred on the themes of sharing, discovery and fellowship, these gatherings celebrate the richness of Mediterranean cultures through music, song and poetry.
This year, the Tarsis Flamenco Ensemble promises an emotionally rich musical experience, imbued with the spirit of Spain, inviting the audience on a journey to the heart of Mediterranean sounds.
Trained at the Liceu Higher Conservatory of Music in Barcelona under the guidance of Professor Manuel Granados, the Tarsis Flamenco Ensemble brings together three talented guitarists – Mauro Granados, Pablo Ravelo and Shafkat Mukhtar – accompanied by the flamenco dancer (bailaora) Julia Dalama.
Through compositions and arrangements by Manuel Granados, the ensemble offers a musical journey to the heart of flamenco, blending concert music with traditional dance. Its repertoire explores different facets of contemporary flamenco, combining spellbinding rhythms, virtuosity and emotion.
What makes this ensemble unique is the original combination of three flamenco guitars, whose distinct musical voices complement and intertwine to create a unique sonic richness.
A vibrant and authentic performance, inviting the audience to discover the full diversity and modernity of Spanish flamenco.
