The Little Tourist Trainfrom Bonifacio

Getting to the citadel by public transport

Fun, reliable and running frequently, Bonifacio’s little tourist train offers a pleasant introduction to the town, linking the marina to the citadel. A ticket purchased at the harbour guarantees a return journey to the starting point every 30 to 45 minutes.

Marina-Citadelle: non-stop

Meet behind the harbour master’s office

The train always departs from behind the harbour master’s office. The ticket office is next door. You’ll need to keep these tickets so you can catch the train back up to the Upper Town. Once the train is full, it will take you to the Carotola stop, just a stone’s throw from Piazza Fondago, the heart of the citadel.

Every point of view… or almost every one

Choosing to travel by little train will bring out the child in you. With the wind in your hair, you’ll admire the views of the marina and the superb boats moored there. You’ll see the Bastion de l’Etendard up close in all its grandeur, along with the fortifications supporting the citadel. You’ll feel as though you’re in an amusement park as you pass through the Carotola tunnel before being dropped off in the heart of the Upper Town. You’ll have saved your energy for exploring the pedestrianised citadel and chosen a form of public transport that is, therefore, more environmentally friendly.
